Orlando, FL – November 24, 2014 –

The Daily Meal, a website that produces more culinary content than any other resource through articles, videos, and special reports, recently announced the “101 Best Hotel Restaurants in the World.”  NORMAN’S at The Ritz-Carlton Orlando, Grande Lakes, was named the 37th best hotel restaurant in the world, and the seventh best hotel restaurant in the United States.

“To be selected by ‘The Daily Meal’ as the topmost restaurant within a hotel in Florida …. as well as the 7th restaurant overall in the entire United States is a thrill and an honor,” said Chef Norman Van Aken, Founder and Co-Owner of NORMAN’S at The Ritz-Carlton Orlando, Grande Lakes.  “We have dedicated our mission at NORMAN’S to the profound flavors of a state that is filled with one of the most diverse populations in the nation. ‘New World Cuisine’ is the phrase we use to describe it. We created it as we feel it fittingly embracing enough to convey the breadth of where we live, cook and serve. The recognition by the editors of The Daily Meal validates our mission in ways that we hope brings more and more guests to our doors and also shines a light on the farmers, fishermen, artisanal food makers and all who we partner with in the pursuit of excellence.”

The Daily Meal sites on their page how they go about compiling this list of amazing hotel restaurants.  The Daily Meal makes their decisions “based on winners and nominees from their 2013 list of the best hotel restaurants, consulted the Michelin Guide, and also looked at hotel restaurants from its annual regional 101 Best Restaurants list.  The restaurants were then grouped by continent and an experienced panel of bloggers, critics, and food and lifestyle writers were then invited to vote for their favorites in an online survey. To be considered, the hotel has to have at least 15 rooms and restaurants must be in the same building – and under the same proprietorship – as the hotel.”
